Triple offset butterfly valves (TOV) have three separate counterbalances as displayed in the image above to one side. Two counterbalances are set from the middle while the third is on the seating surface which makes a cone type state of the circle and seat. These valves are utilized for the most part in applications where a tight air pocket shut-off is required, a high temperature is normal or hard fixing surfaces are expected with zero leakage(soft seat) or appraised leakage(metal seat).
